Hi, I'm Ksenia. My first name means "foreigner" in the
Greek language and it's a popular name in Russia, where I grew up. How ironic
because I now live in the United States and live up to my name! I grew up in
the Ural Mountains that divide Siberia from Europe. It was a great place
growing up! We grew and cooked our own food: tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes,
radishes, onions, cherries, strawberries, and everything else. That's when I
fell in love with simple plant based food. I learned to cook when I was just
about 10 years old when I was taking care of my little brother and sister
living in our country house in the Urals. I have carried that passion for
simple food through my life and brought it with me to America!
America is a great place to eat healthy! There is just so much
variety of fruit, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains to experiment with. The
secret to getting our health back as a nation is to go back to basics: make
good simple food at home and use as many plant based ingredients as possible.
In America I developed my passion for dishes from all over the world. I love
cooking vegetarian Eastern European, Indian, Thai, Italian, Mexican, and
Chinese food.
This website contains my favorite vegetarian recipes that are:
•
Simple and rustic
•
Full of plant based
nutrients
•
From around the world!
I hope you enjoy making
these dishes. Spasibo!
